The revision of the Consecana-SP model was formalized this Thursday (16), during the Cana Summit 2026, with the definition of new rules for the remuneration of sugarcane and adjustments in the governance of the system. The agreement between the Union of the Sugarcane and Bioenergy Industry (Unica) and the Organization of Associations of Sugarcane Producers of Brazil (Orplana) establishes an additional factor for the producer, the application of retroactive adjustments to the 2024/25 and 2025/26 harvests and the following ones, in addition to the implementation of an independent audit. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) indicates that the 4,5% factor constitutes an additional component guaranteed exclusively to the sugarcane producer, without being included in the reference formula, thus preventing automatic extension to third-party contracts.
