The actions, conducted by the Inspection Service for Products of Plant Origin (SIPOV-PR), identified fraud in batches acquired by public bodies, with impurity levels far above the permitted and misleading information on the labeling. According to data released by Mapa, one of the most recent operations, carried out in Curitiba, collected more than 21 tons of the product in 500 g packages. One of the batches has already been deemed unfit for consumption, according to a laboratory report that detected the presence of foreign matter four times higher than the legal limit of 1%, as established by Ordinance SDA No. 570/2022.
