Over two years, Russia has increased the production of turkey hatching eggs by 90%

From 2021 to last year, Russian poultry farmers increased the production of turkey hatching eggs by 90 percent. This was reported by Veterinary and Life with reference to data from the consulting agency Agrifood Strategies. In exact figures, the figure increased from 15.1 to 28.2 million units. At the same time, compared to 2022, one and a half times more were produced. The agency noted that such dynamics have made it possible to significantly reduce the dependence of Russian turkey production on foreign supplies, as well as increase the biological security of this sub-sector of poultry farming. The latter is due to the fact that when reorienting to domestic production of these products, farmers also strengthened the security of their farms.
