Farmers in Panchgarh district are experiencing satisfaction with the high yield of groundnut crops and reasonable market prices this year. They have cultivated groundnut on 11,795 hectares of land across all five upazilas, with a production goal of 24,000 tons. The lucrative prices, reaching Tk3000 to Tk3200 per mound in local markets, have inspired farmers to expand their cultivation. Each bigha (33 decimal) of land is expected to produce 8 to 10 mounds of groundnut. The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has supported farmers with quality seeds, fertilizers, and training, and commercial banks have provided easy loans for cultivation.
