Papaya / CEPEA: Formosa's price drops 39% in Northern Espírito Santo and Southern Bahia, Brazil

Piracicaba, 04 - This week (11/30 to 12/4), the prices of papaya formosa fell in the North of Espírito Santo and in the South of Bahia. According to employees of Hortifruti / Cepea, this is due to the market that is not yet much of a buyer and to the slight increase in the variety's offer in these regions, since the recent rains, followed by high temperatures, have accelerated the fruit's ripening. Thus, formosa depreciated 39% in the north of Espírito Santo, compared to the previous week, closing with an average of R $ 1.39 / kg in the period. In the south of Bahia, it was sold for R $ 1.35 / kg, down 39% in the same comparison.
