Paraguay is set to achieve a record wheat harvest of 1.4 million tons this year, with half of the production intended for the local market and the remainder for export as raw material. The country's Chamber of Millers is considering the possibility of industrializing half of the production to increase export value and establish a strong Paraguayan brand. Currently, Brazil is the primary consumer of Paraguay's wheat exports, but there are plans to expand to other regional markets, including Chile and Uruguay. The wheat industry in Paraguay creates employment for 5,000 people.
