Paraguay and Brazil agree to facilitate procedures for bilateral grain trade

Dr. Alfredo Gryciuk, technical general director of Senave, explained that problems were detected in the processes of exporting grains from Paraguay to Brazil, for which it was agreed to discuss the matter to harmonize inspection procedures, in order to expedite the trade. Thus, after two days of meetings (January 18 and 19) Senave and MAPA agreed on criteria for the implementation of a work system that aims to improve the phytosanitary inspection processes of plant products. The specific procedures addressed were: “Pest interception in joint inspections carried out in the Integrated Control Area – Ciudad del Este”, as well as “Detection of fumigants in the work environment of sampling and inspection of shipments of plant products and by-products in Integrated Control Area – Ciudad del Este”.
