Italy is the world leader in pasta consumption, with its citizens consuming 23.1 kilograms per person annually, according to a report by Coldiretti to mark World Pasta Day. The country's pasta exports have seen a 6% increase in the first seven months of 2024, reaching a value of 4.1 billion euros. There is a growing trend among young people to prepare pasta at home, with 27% of Italians making their own tagliatelle, tortellini, and other types of pasta. The consumption of 100% Italian pasta, made from national wheat, has also risen, accounting for an average of 40% in volume and value of total purchases in large-scale distribution.
