The article highlights the ongoing increase in the prices of processed food, with canned food seeing a notable rise. A visit to a minimarket in Bogor Regency revealed that the price of a 155 gram can of fish has risen from Rp. 10,000 to Rp. 12,000, with other brands experiencing similar price hikes. This situation coincides with a significant rise in imports of mackerel and sardines, key raw materials for canned fish, as data from the Directorate General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of Marine and Fishery Products shows. Despite this, domestic supply contributes to the canning industry, particularly with lemuru, a type of Indonesian sardine.
