The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has reported a total of 386 complaints from consumers who have fallen ill after consuming the "Lentil & Leek Crumbles" product by Daily Harvest. The number of complaints has increased from 369 reported in mid-August, with the latest illness reported on Sept. 4. The symptoms reported include gastrointestinal problems and liver function abnormalities, and at least 25 patients have undergone gallbladder removals and 130 have been hospitalized. The recall of the product was initiated by Daily Harvest on June 17, and the FDA is conducting an ongoing investigation, aiding which are state health departments and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The product was sold both online and in retail stores, and the FDA is urging consumers who have consumed the product and developed symptoms to contact their doctors.
