Peach harvest advances in Rio Grande do Sul

The Conjunctural Report released by Emater/RS-Ascar on Thursday (27) indicates progress in the peach harvest in different regions of Rio Grande do Sul, with increasing supply in the markets and price variations according to the caliber and destination of the fruit. In the administrative region of Caxias do Sul, Emater reports that "there is already a good quantity of fruits for consumers," with more affordable prices due to the increased supply. Despite this, producers report difficulties in marketing. The harvest is concentrated on the varieties BRS Kampai, PS 25399 (early), Chimarrita, Fascínio, Serenata, White Delight, and Charme, which register "good production volume" and an average price of R$ 6.40/kg at Ceasa/Serra. Smaller fruits are sold for R$ 5.00/kg. The harvest of nectarine from the varieties Mexicana, Bruna, and Mina has also begun, with values similar to those of the peach.
