As of March 31, 2022, peanut stocks in commercial storage significantly increased to 4.09 billion pounds from 3.83 billion pounds a year earlier. The stocks consist of 3.26 billion pounds of actual farmer stock and 802 million pounds of shelled peanuts. Edible grade stocks made up 603 million pounds, with 574 million pounds being edible and 28.9 million pounds being oil. In March, millings totaled 535 million pounds, and commercial processors used 220 million pounds of shelled edible grade peanuts. Deliveries under the Government Domestic Feeding and Child Nutrition Programs reached 1.01 million pounds of peanut butter and 51.8 thousand pounds of roasted peanuts. Additionally, treated seed stocks rose to 29.3 million pounds from 11.0 million pounds in February, primarily composed of Runners.
