As of February 28, 2022, peanut stocks in commercial storage reached 4.56 billion pounds, an increase from 4.34 billion pounds the previous year. The stocks consist of 3.79 billion pounds of actual farmer stock and 739 million pounds of shelled peanuts. Edible grade stocks totaled 556 million pounds, with 78.0 million pounds of Virginias and Valencias, 412 million pounds of Runners, and 35.2 million pounds of Spanish. In February, millings totaled 536 million pounds, and commercial processors used 194 million pounds of shelled edible grade peanuts. Deliveries under the Government Domestic Feeding and Child Nutrition Programs amounted to 1.25 million pounds of peanut butter. Finally, treated seed stocks increased to 11.0 million pounds, compared to 2.19 million pounds in January.
