The recent outbreak of fruit tree burn disease in China has led to a ban on pollen imports, raising concerns about the supply and demand of pear pollen for artificial pollination. The Rural Development Administration in Korea has suggested methods to stabilize the supply, such as collecting branches of pollinating trees and grafting them onto the main cultivated variety. It is also advised to check the vitality and purity of self-produced pollen before artificial pollination and to limit the use of methods that consume a lot of pollen, such as drones.
