Brazil's export of tilapia increased by 52% in volume, to 8,000 tons, in the first half of the year compared to the same period last year. In revenue, the exports amounted to US$ 36 million, with 95% of the shipments destined for the United States, according to a statement by the association that represents the sector in the country, Peixe BR. However, external shipments may be virtually zeroed in this semester after the 50% tariff imposed by the United States government on Brazil - and tilapia, the main exported fish, was not excluded.
