As of May 7, 2023, global pepper prices remained stable with no significant changes, with varying prices for different types and locations. The domestic pepper market in Vietnam saw a sharp increase in prices for the fourth consecutive session, reaching 74,000 VND/kg, due to concerns about supply shortage and stockpiling. Despite the lack of specific harvest data for 2023, pepper growers are expecting a decrease in production. Vietnam's export of pepper in the first four months of 2023 reached 107,000 tons.
