Peppers boost trade in the Chinese province of Guizhou

Peppers provide a boost to the economy of the Chinese province of Guizhou. In the city of Zunyi, a district called Xiazi, known as the "Chinese Pepper Town", is a trading center where pepper traders meet daily. Xiazi has developed over time. From spontaneous and scattered trade in the beginning, it has now grown into the professional market of Zunyi chili peppers. The market now acts as a central trading hub, with large data centers, financial service centers, logistics distribution centers and inspection and quarantine stations. After years of development, the market now covers a vast area of about 31 hectares, which can facilitate the annual trade of 750,000 tons of chili peppers.
