In 2020, Kazakhstan experienced a 7% increase in national meat consumption, with per capita consumption reaching 21 kg. The third quarter saw a notable rise in meat and meat product consumption across the country, with Kara Gandhar State, Nur-Sultan City, and Zhambul State showing the highest increases. This surge in demand has led to a hike in meat prices, most significantly for mutton, which saw a 16.2% increase, followed by horse meat and beef at 11.9% and 8% respectively. Conversely, the price of poultry meat decreased by 5%.
