The National Authority for Agrarian Health of Peru (Senasa) has made it mandatory for fresh kiwi imports from New Zealand to meet certain phytosanitary requirements. The requirements include the production sites and packing plants of the kiwi fruit to be registered and authorized by the New Zealand National Plant Protection Organization (ONPF). The fruit must also be free of certain pests and the containers must be new or properly labeled and clean. The shipment must also have a phytosanitary import permit obtained by the importer and a certificate indicating the fruit's freedom from certain pests. A phytosanitary inspection will be conducted at the point of entry into Peru.
