Peru exported 20,650 tons of paprika in the first half of 2024

The global use of paprika has become considerably popular, generating sustained growth in demand for several years. However, this growth has also attracted new producers to the market. During the first half of 2024, our country exported 20,650 tons of paprika worth $77 million, representing a 9% increase in volume, but a 3% drop in value, according to FreshFruit. In Peru alone there are more than 65 companies dedicated to the export of paprika, covering almost 20 different international destinations. The favorable climate of Peru, the long-term storage capacity and the efficient distribution of shipments allow this product to have a commercial window practically all year round.
