In the second quarter of 2024, Peruvian pomegranate exports saw a significant decrease, with a total of 9,332 tons valued at $29.1 million, marking a 52.4% drop in volume and a 21.6% decrease in value compared to the same period in 2023. Despite the volume decrease, a 64.7% increase in price resulted in an average of $3.11 per kilogram. The exports were delivered to 28 countries, with the Netherlands and the United States being the largest importers. The Wonderful variety was the only one exported, primarily as fresh pomegranates (76.3%), with a smaller portion being exported as arils (21.0%) and frozen (2.7%). The main exporters were Exportadora Frutícola del Sur S.A., Corporación Agrolatina S.A.C., and Agroindustrial Complex Beta S.A.
