Peru: New phytosanitary inspection and treatment center inaugurated

The Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, Angel Manero, arrived in the district of Yanatile, in the province of Calca, to inaugurate a SENASA plant products inspection and phytosanitary treatment center. The modern facility will be at the service of more than 27 thousand fruit and vegetable producers, and will guarantee that plant products are free of pests and can be marketed in the national and international market. SENASA explained that this investment is part of the national quarantine protection program of 969,162 hectares for fruit-growing areas where work is being done to eradicate the fruit fly plague (ceratitis capitata and anastrepha spp) in Cusco. “We are very happy to be here to inaugurate these SENASA facilities, because Peru does not stop and is advancing in many aspects.
