Peru and Vietnam have established phytosanitary protocols for the export of fresh mandarin from Peru to Vietnam. This was announced by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation of Peru, following a technical meeting between the phytosanitary authorities of both countries. The protocols will be published in the Vietnamese official journal, with SENASA communicating the list of production sites and packers authorised to export mandarin to Vietnam. Additionally, the progress towards exporting blueberries to Vietnam is also under way. In 2023, Peruvian citrus fruits were exported to over 40 countries, with the United States being the largest market.
