The San Martín Region in Peru is planning to expand its Tahiti lemon plantation to 1,200 hectares this year, despite the Covid-19 state of emergency. This expansion is supported by the Regional Government and Casa Blanca SAC company. The first phase of this project will see 500 hectares of land cultivated, with each hectare expected to yield about 25 tons of lemons. The lemons will be exported to both neighboring countries and Europe. The farmers in the region have signed an eight-year contract with Casa Blanca SAC for the commercialization of their entire production.
