Peruvian açaí shipments grew 149.6% in volume in 2024

(Agraria.pe) Between January and December 2024, Peruvian açaí exports grew by 149.6% in volume, reaching 313.1 tons. During this period, they reached 17 countries, with Chile as the main destination, accounting for 68% of purchases, followed by the United States with 13.6%. The remaining 15 countries accounted for 17.7%. “This Amazonian fruit grows in Peru and is being very well received by international markets due to its high fiber, protein, and healthy fats. This fruit is characterized by its seed, which accounts for 90% of the fruit, and the pulp, which is only 10% consumed,” commented analyst Heber Chávez, who shared the information. He added that last year, 18 exporting companies made the growth in açaí exports possible.
