The Peruvian agricultural export sector is facing potential tariffs from the US government, according to Rubén Carrasco, the executive director of Cultivida. Despite this, Peru is ready to continue exporting to 120 countries, with a focus on growth in Asian markets. The country has seen success through diversification of products and 34% of exports come from the US, mainly fruits. However, Peru needs to invest in water infrastructure to support megaprojects and prevent social conflicts. Carrasco is advocating for a collaborative approach between the public and private sectors to address infrastructure needs and implement alternative dams.
