In August 2024, Peru's agricultural exports reached US$ 1,247 million, a 40% increase from the previous year, despite global trade challenges. This success was largely driven by coffee, avocado, and cocoa, with coffee seeing a 57% volume and 195% value increase. Blueberries and avocados also had good markets, while cocoa's price more than doubled due to production drops in West Africa. Mandarins also performed well. Europe was the primary market, with the United States and China also contributing significantly. Overall, Peru's year-to-date agricultural exports amounted to US$ 6.65 billion, 26% higher than the previous year, with expectations of a positive year-end, especially with the anticipated peak of the blueberry and grape campaigns.
