Peruvian fresh mango exports grow 7% in volume up to week 5 of this campaign

(Agraria.pe) From the beginning of the 2022/2023 campaign to the end of week 5 (January 29), our country exported 164,985 tons of fresh mangoes, which represented an increase of 7% compared to the 154,216 tons shipped in same period of the previous campaign (2021/2022). This was reported by the Peruvian Association of Mango Producers and Exporters (APEM), who pointed out that in the analyzed period of this campaign, the main destination market for fresh mango from Peru is Europe, which concentrates 46.2% of the total. 76,217 tons of fresh mangoes from Peru went to Europe (where the Netherlands, Germany and Spain stand out), showing a contraction of -11.17% compared to the 85,801 tons shipped in the same period last season. It is followed by the United States, where 72,714 tons of fresh mangoes from Peru were shipped, noting an important growth of 45.6% versus the 49,918 tons shipped in the 2021/2022 campaign.
