Peruvian lemon exports decreased in September 2024

In September 2024, Peruvian lemon exports experienced a decline, reaching 1,928 tons worth $1.9 million. This figure represents a 32% drop in volume and 29% in value, compared to the same month in 2023. According to FreshFruit, the 4% increase in the average price, which was $1.01 per kilogram, slightly reduced the drop. It should be noted, however, that even with the low results in September, the annual cumulative figure shows an increase compared to 2023, both in volume and value. With 64,522 tons exported for $69.6 million, it is 30% higher in volume and 36% higher in value. There were 9 destinations reached that month, with Chile being the main one (41% share) by acquiring 900 tons for $792,000 ($0.88 per kilogram). The United States (39%) held on to second place, importing 677 tons worth $757,000 ($1.12 per kilogram).
