Between January and August 2021, France experienced a 10% increase in food imports compared to the same period in 2020, totaling US $ 15.808 million. Peru emerged as the twelfth largest food supplier to France, with purchases of fruits, vegetables, and grains amounting to US $ 225 million, a 13% increase from the previous year. Avocados, mangoes, and coffee were the main imports from Peru. Peruvian avocado prices increased by 4%, making it the most expensive, while Kenyan avocados were the least expensive. French mango imports saw a 1% increase from Peru, making it the main supplier with a 42% share. Peruvian coffee imports also rose by 28% in volume and 40% in value, positioning Peru as the sixth supplier of coffee beans to France. Luigi Lavazza S.A.S. and Maison P. Jobin & Cie S.A.S. were the main buyers of Peruvian coffee in France.
