Peru's Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation has announced a new market for its producers to export gold grain to Colombia, following an agreement between the National Agrarian Health Service - Senasa and the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA). This agreement, a result of the annual meetings of the Peruvian and Colombian presidents, will benefit over 20,000 producers from regions like Cusco, Puno, Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Junín and Arequipa. Peru, the world's leading quinoa exporter, exported over 51 thousand tons of quinoa in 2019 to more than 70 countries. Senasa is also working on securing access to other markets, including Paraguay, Bolivia, and Guatemala.
