(Agraria.pe) Peruvian table grapes continue to establish themselves as one of the stars of the South American country's agro-export sector and this time the spotlight is on the Japanese market. During the 2024/2025 campaign, exports of Peruvian table grapes to Japan reached US$ 15 million, with a volume of 4,000 tons, representing a year-on-year growth of 69% in volume and 63% in value, compared to the previous campaign, according to an analysis by Fluctuante. This remarkable performance responds to the growing demand of the Japanese consumer, who values the grape as a luxury product, very present in their culture and ceremonies. The trade opening with Japan, considered one of the most demanding in the world in terms of phytosanitary and quality standards, represents a strategic advance for the Peruvian fruit sector.
