Peruvian table grapes on the road to recovery

The Peruvian table grape industry is one of the sectors that has shown the greatest growth, going from 400 thousand metric tons (MT) in 2019-2020 to 622 thousand MT in 2022-2023. In this context, Fluctuante published a few days ago the new report on agricultural exports in figures, analyzing the situation of the sector in Peru. The document reports that in the 2023-2024 campaign, table grape exports fell slightly to 525 thousand MT, due to heavy rains and high temperatures that affected the quality of the fruit. Despite the contraction, Peru remains the largest exporter of table grapes. Likewise, China also significantly increased its exports, reaching 490 thousand MT in 2023-2024, while South Africa has a constant share and Chile has experienced a reduction from 496 thousand MT to 480 thousand MT during the last campaign.
