From April to June 2023, pig production in the Philippines increased by 1.0% compared to the same period in 2022. The Central Visayas region was the top hog producer, followed by Calabarzon, Northern Mindanao, Central Luzon, and Western Visayas. Central Luzon experienced the highest increase in production. As of June 30, 2023, the country's pig inventory reached 10.07 million heads, with 67.5% coming from smallholder farms. Calabarzon had the highest swine population during this period.
