(Sancheong=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Dong-min = On the afternoon of the 3rd, as the real winter cold has begun, the drying of persimmons is in full swing at a persimmon drying rack in Danseong-myeon, Sancheong County, Gyeongnam Province.

Persimmons hanging diligently on the 5-meter-high rack created a spectacular sight, as if passing through a tunnel of orange jewels.

Farmer Baek Han-heum said, "Sancheong persimmons complete their unique sticky and chewy texture with a thin skin and high sugar content by repeatedly freezing and thawing countless times in the large diurnal temperature range of Jirisan."

Sancheong persimmons have recently won the top prize for 10 consecutive years in the 'Republic of Korea Representative Fruit Selection Contest' and boast unparalleled quality, having once been a gift for Queen Elizabeth II.
