The National Pig Farmers Association in Thailand is urging the government to hasten its crackdown on illegal pigs, which are causing significant harm to the Thai pork industry and the country's economy. The association's president, Mr. Sitthiphan Thanakiatpinyo, highlighted that these illegal pigs are sold at lower prices, making it challenging for local pigs to compete. The association suggests a price of 60-70 baht per kilogram for live pigs, despite the cost to farmers being 80 baht per kilogram. They are advocating for collaborative measures between the government, farmers, and businesses to ensure price stability and long-term food security.
