Pineapple production in Paraíba, Brazil, has reached high levels, with the state becoming the second largest producer of pineapples in the country. Pineapples accounted for over 50% of the gross value of all fruit production in the state in 2021. One farmer in Itapororoca has obtained organic certification for his pineapple production and is exploring the use of pineapple leaves for textile fiber production. The Banco do Nordeste is working on a Territorial Action Plan to organize and structure the pineapple industry in Paraíba.
