Iran is the second-largest producer of pistachios in the world

Iran ranks first in the world in terms of undercultivated area of pistachio orchards and second in pistachio production in the world, the country's Agriculture Ministry said in an official statement. The director general of the Ministry of Agriculture for dried fruits, Dariush Salempour, highlighted the situation of pistachio production in the country and said that pistachio is one of the most important fruit and vegetable products in Iran. Dariush Salempour said that the country is the world's second largest producer of this strategic product.
