The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, Luis Planas, has praised the "good technical and diplomatic cooperation" between Spain and China to achieve "minimizing" the impact of the definitive tariffs imposed by the Asian country on the entry of European pork over the next five years. In statements to the media before closing the I National Fisheries Congress, the minister admitted that the 9.8% tariff finally imposed on most Spanish pork exporting companies is "an acceptable and more favorable figure" than initially anticipated. The companies have maintained "total" transparency and Spain is a country that "inspires confidence," which has led China to adopt this less burdensome decision.
