Planting high-quality varieties of sesame and perilla! Showcasing mechanized technology.

The Rural Development Administration held a field demonstration and seminar on mechanized rice paddy cultivation of sesame and perilla on the 28th in Cheongyang County, South Chungcheong Province. The seminar introduced new sesame and perilla varieties suitable for rice paddy cultivation and mechanization technology, developed and disseminated water management techniques for cultivation sites, exhibited 15 types of agricultural machinery (seeding machines, transplanters, harvesters, etc.), and demonstrated planting and harvesting techniques such as seedling transplanters, general combine harvesters and pickers, and non-excavation underground drainage technology. The varieties introduced on the day were sesame 'Haniol' (bred in 2021), 'Youngwoong' (bred in 2023), and perilla 'Deulchan' (bred in 2018), 'Saechan' (bred in 2024).
