REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The National Food Agency (Bapanas) emphasizes the importance of fulfilling Diverse, Nutritious, Balanced, and Safe (B2SA) food based on local resources as a strategy to strengthen food security and reduce stunting rates. Chief Secretary of Bapanas Sarwo Edhy said the B2SA approach ensures that communities have access to nutritious food while maximizing the potential of local food in various regions. “We support and are committed to reducing stunting, Bapanas promotes this through the B2SA program. Children must grow healthy and pregnant mothers must also be strong, they need to consume diverse, nutritious, balanced, and safe food,” said Sarwo, Sunday (16/11/2025). He explained that local carbohydrate sources such as cassava, sweet potatoes, corn, sago, taro, and other commodities, can be alternatives to rice to support food diversification.
