In Austria, a total of 27 people have become sick and one person has died from consuming chicken meat that was used to prepare shish kebabs in various regions of the country, excluding Tyrol. The meat was contaminated with two strains of Salmonella Enteritidis, which caused previous outbreaks from February to May of this year. The Austrian Ministry of Health, along with local authorities, is investigating each case and monitoring for any additional incidents.
