Police seize adulterated olive oil on the border with Paraguay

The Federal Police (PF) and the Federal Revenue Service seized 150 liters of adulterated olive oil in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, on Tuesday morning (9). The action took place in the customs area of the International Friendship Bridge, on the border with Paraguay, with the aim of repressing smuggling and embezzlement crimes. The seized product was a mixture of vegetable oils that were being sold as Argentine olive oil. The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) prohibits the trade, advertising and consumption of this type of product, as it has reduced nutritional value and may be harmful to the health of consumers who are sensitive to the components of the added oils.
