Pork consumption in Peru would reach 220 thousand tons

(Agraria.pe) Pork consumption in our country would reach 220 thousand tons by the end of this year, representing a 5% increase compared to 2024, according to estimates from the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri). The institution also highlighted that the per capita consumption of pork in Peru would close at 11 kilos this year, and the goal of the pork industry is to double this consumption by 2030. Currently, pork is the second most consumed meat in Peru (after chicken), and it is increasingly preferred by Peruvians, especially during year-end celebrations (Christmas and New Year).
