The UK has published new plans to support sustainable fishing and protect key fishing stocks, taking advantage of the post-Brexit freedoms. These plans include measures to work with the fishing industry and other stakeholders to support the long-term future and sustainable management of fish stocks such as crab, lobster, king scallop, and bass. Additionally, the UK has ratified the WTO Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies and secured access to 420,000 tonnes of fishing opportunities worth up to £700 million after negotiating with the EU and Norway.
