Argentina is marking National Poultry Day and celebrating its position as one of the leading poultry producers and exporters globally, with a focus on the industry's significance to both the domestic and international markets. The country's poultry industry, primarily based in Entre Ríos and Buenos Aires provinces, benefits from its disease-free status regarding avian influenza and Newcastle disease, enabling poultry products to be exported to over 100 countries. In 2024, the National Agri-Food Health and Quality Service (Senasa) certified 114,883 tons of poultry products for export. The government's efforts in disease surveillance and control, supported by partnerships with various agencies, play a crucial role in maintaining this health status and opening new markets. This includes the recent reopening of the Mexican market to Argentine poultry products. The public is encouraged to report any suspected diseases to Senasa to ensure early detection and containment.
