The management of the Sugar Company and union representatives have reached a pre-agreement on the employment regulation file (ERE) announced by the company for its factories in Spain, without these conversations resulting in a reversal of the closure of the sugar beet processing facilities in La Bañeza (León), with more than 120 layoffs. This has been confirmed to EFE by Miguel Brezmes, general secretary of the CCOO-Castilla y León Industry Federation, who emphasized that, before being formalized, this pre-agreement must be ratified by worker assemblies. Pending the final wording of the pre-agreement, the text includes incentivized departures, variables depending on age, voluntary transfers to other factories, and assistance for moving and rent payment, among other conditions.
