By Luciana Xavier São Paulo, 09/30/2025 - The president of the National Confederation of Family Farmers and Rural Family Entrepreneurs (Conafer), Carlos Roberto Ferreira Lopes, was arrested in flagrante delicto early Tuesday morning (30), while giving testimony to the CPMI of the INSS. The information comes from the Federal Senate website. According to the president of the CPMI, Senator Carlos Viana (Podemos-MG), Lopes lied to the committee, even after having committed to tell the truth. Lopes denied involvement in fraud in retirees' deductions, but stated that he was unaware of the details of operations by individuals and companies linked to the entity, which are under investigation for irregularities. Viana said that Lopes concealed information and tried to convince the committee that the operation was regular, committing the crime of false information.
