Prices for dairy products have increased in Ukraine

In Ukraine, as of the beginning of August, retail prices for a number of dairy products have increased, in particular, for milk, kefir, yogurts, butter, and cheeses. This was reported by analyst Giorgii Kukhaleishvili, the Association of Milk Producers reports. "The intense heat affected the interruptions in the operation of ventilation systems on dairy farms, which led to an increase in the number of heat strokes in cows and a decrease in their productivity. In July, milk processing enterprises experienced a shortage of raw milk," the expert notes. In addition, prolonged outages of refrigeration equipment led to the fact that a significant amount of dairy products spoiled and was not sold. The price was also affected by the use of diesel generators, which led to an increase in production costs.
