Attacks on the port infrastructure of Odesa and the damage to two oil extraction plants in the Pivdennyi and Chornomorsk ports have led to their shutdown and a decrease in purchasing activity by processors. Against this backdrop, purchasing prices for sunflower in Ukraine have fallen by another 800-1000 UAH/t over the week to the lowest level this season of 26000-27500 UAH/t or 540-570 $/t without VAT (for 50% oil content) with delivery to the plant. It is worth recalling that at the end of 2024, purchasing prices also dropped to the level of 23800-25000 UAH/t (which is 10% lower than now) under the pressure of falling sunflower oil prices to 1050-1070 $/t with delivery to ports. The suspension of maritime exports of sunflower oil from Ukraine has led to a rise in demand prices in India by 20-30 $/t to 1330-1340 $/t, and the offer prices of Russian sunflower oil with January delivery by 30-50 $/t to 1240-1280 $/t FOB.
